Mt. Shasta Part 3

So we last left off after Mt. Shasta's 4th of July parade and an afternoon BBQ.

That evening, we headed out to the golf course, where everyone one goes to watch the fireworks that are shot off from the lake. We got there 2 hours early, and so did the whole town, It was really different from a Utah fireworks show. Here, everyone goes, finds a spot with their families and keeps to themselves. In Mt. Shasta, everyone mixed and mingled and talked with neighbors and friends. I think nearly every kid in my mother-in-laws class came to tell her hi!

Bryant had fun carrying his daughter around and showing her off to all his old high school buddies.

My favorite girl, my favorite boy, and one of my favorite mountains behind them!
After we went and said hi to half of Mt. Shasta, we settled down and waited for the fireworks to begin.

Savannah fell asleep briefly before the fireworks, but woke up just in time to see them all.

My dad Lance, my grandma Cynthia, and my grandpa Ted.

My mother-in-law Robyn, my Mom Anna, my sister Sage, and my father-in-law Ed.

My Sister-in-laws roommate Katy (who I want to hire to clean my house and babysit. I told her I'd pay her in chocolate moose bars. Too bad she lives in Idaho...) My sister-in-law Chantel, and Bryant and Savy.

The fireworks were awesome! I had been worried for weeks that Savannah wouldn't like the noise. In fact, after the Orem Summerfest Parade, we left before the fireworks, and at the Orem Owlz opening game, we left before their fireworks too. I don't know what I was so worried about. Savannah screamed and yelled excitedly (not scared yells) and chatted and kicked her little legs in excitement. She was completely focused on the fireworks and loved them! I'd call Savy's first fireworks event a total success!

Ok, thats all for now. I promise I only have one more post left before our Mt. Shasta 4th of July/baby blessing trip is completely covered (and it's only July 13th now, Sheesh!). Hopefully I can get it done tonight because I have to work the next few days (and one day I have to go in twice.) So if not tonight, possibly next week.

Savy's Baby Blessing

I am so far behind on blog posts and I have a feeling that it's going to take me a while to catch up. Savy is becoming a lot more active and she gets bored easily so we are getting to the stage where she doesn't like to just quietly sit or snuggle. We are constantly playing and having fun, which doesn't leave a lot of time to get anything done. But she's currently watching the magic school bus, which will give me about 15 minutes of free time.

I want to cover everything we did on our trip to Mt. Shasta, California last week, but it would be a super long post and I just don't have the time, so I'll break our week up into individual posts, so keep an eye out for them.

We started out by getting up at 3:30am on Friday morning and getting everything packed and a few jobs done before we got on the road at 6:00am. It's usually a 12 hour drive, with about an hour for bathroom breaks and food stops, but we had a big group (my grandparents, sister, parents, Bryant, and of course, a 3 month old wiggle-worm.) and we ended up rolling into Mt. Shasta around 9:00pm California time, which means it was a 16 hour drive. I was nervous about driving that long with a baby, but Savannah was an angel and didn't shed a single tear! It was a piece of cake!

Saturday, Bryant went golfing with his dad and two brothers while everyone else slept in. When they got back, we all headed downtown to enjoy the food and booth vendors. Bryant brought me a beautiful floral print summer dress and we ate some good Mexican food (but it took them an hour to bring us 1 burrito and some chips)

Waiting for some Mexican food with Grandpa Peacock

Even though it took them an hour, the shade was nice.

The next day was Sunday, and it was the whole reason we were out there; Savannah's baby blessing. She was so beautiful and Bryant did an amazing job!

She was starving after church so she wasn't happy that we were taking a lot of pictures instead of feeding her.

Savannah with her great-grandma Donna Stokes (Don't you love the bonnet? I think it's so vintage!)

It was great to have my parents and sister, my grandparents, Bryant's parents, two borthers, sister and grandma there! I was so happy to have everyone together to be at Savannah's blessing!

That afternoon, we had a BBQ with everyone and a few of my in-laws neighbors. My father-in-law Ed makes amazing tri-tip! And that night, we all got our game on and played some garbage!

Ok, Magic school bus is over, so Savannah and I are off to go read a book. More posts soon to come! (And some more photos of Savy in her dress. I just need to get them off Bryant's camera.)

Halloween adventures!

Halloween was most definitely a success this year. Friday night we had our annual ward trunk-or-treat. We usually do it out in the church parking lot and everyone decorates their trunks and then the kids trick or treat from car to car. But this year it was just too cold (we had snow flurries off and on all day) so they moved it inside to the gym. We are still getting to know everyone (people confuse us with another new couple named the Francoms) but it was fun to see our little primary kids all dressed up (we teach the CTR 8 class).
Bryant was Clark Kent. I really love the glasses, they really made the costume awesome.I was Peter Pan. I made the costume, but my dad made my little sword and I borrowed the hat from my brother, who got it in Disneyland. This is Rylan, he's in our class and he's my friends nephew. He was the Joker from Batman. This is Brandon, Rylan's brother. He was superman too, muscles and all!And this is Daxton, another boy from our class. He was the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz and he had a LOT of fun teasing and playing with Bryant at the party. And last but not least, my little sister Sage (wearing a troll costume she came up with and made herself) sang the ghostbusters song and won a prize for "most memorable song".

Then yesterday, I ended up having to work all day, but I got to wear my costume. A few people dressed up as characters from books, which I thought was really creative. One girl from the cafe even dressed up as one of our managers. After I got off work, Bryant and I went out to eat at Red Robin with some of his basketball and work friends. It was fun and everyone had really fun costumes. After dinner, we headed over to my friend's new apartment for a Halloween party. On our way home we stopped for hot chocolate and got Shaun of the Dead to watch at home (you always need a good/funny zombie movie to top off halloween).

Today was a perfect Sunday. We got to sleep in a bit (until we were rudely woken up by Ace running in and jumping right inbetween us) and we only had 3 kids in our primary class today which makes it a lot easier to keep their attention and keep them quiet. After church we gave our puppy a much needed bath and he took a nice long nap with us while watching some football.

At 5:00 we went down to my cousins church for their baby's blessing and Bryant got to be in the circle, wich was really cool. Baby Jackson has gotten so big! The last time I saw him he was 6 pounds, and today he weighed in at 11! Baby's and puppies should stay little forever :)
