Wedding!

Want to know the secret to a happy marriage?
Go to weddings.
I love going to weddings because it brings back a lot of memories of my own wedding, and how happy and blissfully in love I was (and still am!). On the 9th, I was able to watch my little brother Sawyer be sealed for time and all eternity to his best friend Kenna! They were married in the Manti, Utah temple, which is the same temple I was married in 4 years ago! (in fact, tomorrow is my anniversary!) This temple holds a lot of meaning to me, not only because I was married there, but my grandma Bushell would call it, "her temple" and she loved it and would attend often.

Now it holds even more meaning because my brother was married there. It's such a special place.

Their wedding day was beautiful and perfect!

I didn't get as many photos as I had hoped, because I was chasing a toddler around, and not to mention I am the size of a whale right now... But I think I was able to get a few good ones!

(I have more photos, but blogger is having difficulties tonight and is taking forever to load them. Also, I didn't get any photos of the luncheon, sorry mom!)

After the wedding, we did family pictures at the temple, and then we headed to the tabernacle in Manti for the luncheon. My Mom and Aunt made Costa Vida style salads for it, while I made little mason jar holders for the flowers. After the luncheon, we headed home, where Savannah grabbed a nap in the car (I tried, but every time I fall asleep in the car, Bryant thinks it's the best time to turn up the radio and belt-out a song or two... or 10... as loud as he can.) We were able to relax at home for a bit, and then headed to the reception. Their reception was so cute! And I probably ate about 5 cookies... or more, I don't really remember... And a couple of cups of strawberries and cream. I felt bad that we couldn't stay the whole time, but Savannah was getting out of control and I was just way too tired and sore to chase her around, especially because people kept trying to talk to me, and I was trying to keep an eye on her, which is really hard to do when I can't exactly run after her anymore. So I'm sorry to anyone who was chatting with me and I just took off. I wasn't trying to be rude haha!

Anyways, I am so happy and excited for these two crazy kids! Kenna fits into the Peacock clan perfectly and she is such an amazing sister-in-law (I've been VERY blessed with all my in-laws, how did I get so lucky???) Savannah LOVES her to death and is constantly asking to go play with Kenna.

Someone once told me that they felt the first year of marriage was the hardest, but I have to disagree. Sure, it's new and strange to suddenly be living with someone and you have to get used to each others habits and quirks and it can be a frustrating transition. But I think our first year of marriage was one of the best because it is so fun having your best friend with you all the time. You get to come home to them. You get to love and support each other on a whole new level. I am so happy that my brother has found someone who will make him happy, and who he can make happy, for the rest of his life and beyond.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Peacock!

Congrats Sawyer!

Yesterday we went to my brother Sawyer's high school graduation!

And guess what Sawyer decided to do?

That's right. He hid his cowboy hat under his robes and pulled it out to wear when he walked. Tassel and all!

My brother's a stud!

Afterwords, we all went to a park on the campus of BYU and had a lunch picnic!

It was so beautiful outside and the weather was perfect! Some of my extended family came and a few of Sawyer's friends too.

Savy J really enjoyed it.

It was a perfect afternoon!

I'm so proud of Sawyer! He's got big plans too. He's going to hold off college for the year because he is so busy with his state FFA officer duties. He is traveling almost every week. So he will be doing that for a year, then he is planning on going on a mission. Then after his mission, he is going to go to USU to major in agriculture.

Congratulations Sawyer! We've got high hopes for you!
Go class of 2011!

(ugh, this means I'm getting old huh?)

Baby, You're "Dino"-mite!

Bryant got a new work schedule for the summer and now has Tuesdays off, so we decided that Tuesdays are now our date night. We also decided that since our dates have become a little routine, usually involving dinner and a movie, we are now taking turns picking something that we are interested in, that the other may not be, in order to be more involved in what each other likes to do.

It was my turn this time, so to start things off, I chose to go to the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving point. I had only been there once, but it was a lot of fun and I have a thing for museums. It's the history student in me...

This is petrified lightning. Apparently, when lightning strikes sand, it creates a glass tube.
Art in nature. Its beautiful.

The T-Rex is really scary, until you look at his arms. Then, not so much...

The museum is really interactive and it's geared towards teaching kids, like Bryant!

Afterwards, we decided to go to the cheesecake factory for dinner. Strangely, both of us have been there before, but neither of us have eaten there. It was super yummy and the cheesecake was to die for! But we've decided that it's a once a year kind of place. A once a year with tax return money kind of place hahaha!

Also, congrats to my little brother Sawyer and his friend Matt Brocious for getting in the local paper! If you live in PG, pick up a Pleasant Grove Review and check it out!

And, I'm just going to throw in a couple pics of Savannah...

Because seriously? I've got the cutest baby ever...

Even when she makes faces that indicate an impending diaper change...

A Weekend full of exciting news!

We Peacocks have had a pretty big weekend.
And some exciting things have happened!

Exciting news #1:

First off, Thursday night Bryant and I were hanging out with my family and my dad stepped out to go get the mail because no one had gotten it in a couple of days. When he came back, there were a few things for Bryant and I, and one was from RC Willey.

Now let me rewind a bit:

A couple of weeks ago, my Mom and I decided to enter ourselves into the RC Willey grand giveaway. You got a free set of knives from them if you entered, so we went and picked them up after we had done the baby registry and then I haven't thought anything of it since then. I was just excited that I got the free knives.

So, here I am with this letter from RC Willey and thinking it was just an advertisement of some sort, I jokingly said "Hey mom, it's from RC Willey! Maybe we won!"

Well, I opened that letter and had to read it a few times over to make sure I really understood what it was saying.

It was a letter informing me that I had won their grand prize!!!

This was the biggest thing I've ever won next to a free round of mini golf...

It's huge! It comes with a couch, a love seat, an ottoman, a 40 inch HDTV and I think an end table! You can imagine my excitement! I think Bryant and I are still in a state of shock!

Now, onto exciting news #2:

My youngest Brother Sawyer has been in the FFA program at his school for a couple of years now, and since he is a senior, he decided to try out for the FFA state office. This weekend he has been up at USU doing several interviews, tests and programs. Well, today they announced that he has been elected as the FFA state office sentinel!!! It's an incredibly long and difficult process to become a state officer and he has been working his bum off preparing for this! He definitely deserves it! I'm so stinkin' proud of this kid!

So this will basically be his job for the next year. He will be a part of the recruiting team and he will be traveling to different schools, some in different states, recruiting new FFA members.

Now to exciting news #3:

My little sister Sage had her national ballroom competition today and they took the gold medal!!!

I was lucky enough to get off work a bit early in order to run down to BYU and watch her. She's such a fun and animated dancer! She did really well on her individual competition too, but I think her partner was a little nervous. But Sage is the kind of girl who loves performing and isn't easily scared by anything!

My grandparents took Sage, Bryant and I out to celebrate at Iggys for lunch. It was such a fun and exciting day! I've got some hard working siblings! (well, except Colter, who is lounging on the beach in San Diego right now... his hard work starts next week with spring practice haha!)

Braggin' Rights

So, I'm sorry, but I think I get to have some bragging rights today.

First off, I'm going to brag about this kid
This is my younger brother Sawyer, who had his state FFA competition today aaaaaand....

He took 5th individually and his group took 1st overall!!!!
This means that he gets to go to nationals in Indianapolis for free!
I'm so stinkin' proud of him! He definitely deserves it, he's been working hard for this. Great job Sawyer!!!

Now my turn :)
So all week I have been working on a 3,000 word paper for my South African History class. I did mine on animal conservation in the Kalahari desert and I got it done this afternoon!

Also, I got my last research paper back from my geography class on obesity (that one I blogged about a while back that I thought was due the next day so I stayed up all night writing it, only to find out it wasn't due till the next week?)

Yeah, I totally got 100%!
My professor said I was good at doing research. Thats always a good compliment for history majors. We do a lot of research...

All my classes are done! I just have one final that is a take home due next Wednesday and one art history final next Thursday.

Yup, it's awesome.
