Savannah the Pirate!

I think last week was one of the busiest weeks I've had all year. Every single day, from Sunday to Sunday, we had something major going on.

And lucky you, you get to read about each day!

Today we will start with the Strawberry Days Pirate Party that I took the kids too last Monday.

Starwberry Days, for you non-locals, is a week long celebration that my town does every June to celebrate our history and heritage. It includes parties, concerts, a boutique, food, a carnival, and it all leads up to the parade on Saturday.

Monday, the city held a Pirate Party for kids, and knowing Savannah, we just HAD to go! So, I dressed her up and went to be a pirate for a day!

They split everyone up into groups, and then every 15-20 minutes, they had us switch activities. Our first activity for our group was getting a photo with "Captain Jack Sparrow"

She was pretty excited!

Our next stop was the "Tattoo Parlor" because you can't be a pirate with out a tattoo!

Then digging for treasure!

And walking the plank! This was hilarious because they had a guy with blow-up sharks and was pretending to get their ankles while they tried to walk. Savannah made it halfway, then pretended to be eaten by the shark, and "fell" off the plank!

Lunch was supplied by Maceys. I think this was her first hot dog ever!

Her favorite activity was getting to play on the pirate ships! They had two, and they also had fog cannons, so she got to have a pirate ship battle! No 3 year old has ever been more in her element than Savannah was on that ship!

And of course, every pirate needs a parrot! There were other games, but with a half hour to go, Savannah was tired and just really wanted to keep playing on the ships. So I let her play on them for a little while longer (even though our group was done) and then she ran around the field for a while sword fighting with two older boys.

She had so much fun, and I had fun watching her. Deagan was a champ and enjoyed munching on snacks in the stroller for most of it. I hope they do the pirate party again next year!

Strawberry Days

Bryant and I both got completely blindsided by an awful summer cold this week. We both thought that we just had really terrible allergies, but then yesterday morning, we both were starting to feel achy and our symptoms got worse, and we both got terrible dry coughs on top of our allergy sneezes. Last night was miserable. I can't take any medication because I'm breastfeeding, and Bryant is one of those weirdies that "don't believe in medication". It almost makes me mad, here he is completely able to take some dayquil, when I can't, and yet he refuses. Gosh, what I wouldn't give for some cough syrup with some codeine in it...

Anyways, we spent all morning in bed with Savannah crawling all over us and Deagan being extra fussy because I'm trying to keep holding him to a minimum because I don't want to make him sick, and he's a cuddle bug who wants to be constantly held. And I was sucking down a vanilla coke at 8am, because I'm a sickie who can't take anything, so why not?

(Hanging out in bed all morning)

But then DJ spit up ALL OVER my side of the bed. Then, because we've been putting Vaseline in his diaper all week, his diapers don't absorb when he pees, so sometimes that leaks everywhere, like ALSO ON MY BED.

So we were forced to get up and out of bed so I could wash the sheets. Now Bryant is watching soccer, and I decided that I might as well catch up on my blog. You know, since it's 2:00 and I haven't even showered, or gotten my kids dressed for the day, and blogging seemed to take priority.

My town holds a week long celebration called Strawberry Days. Kind of like how some towns have founder's day festivals. All week long they have different events all over the town, the climax of which is the parade on Saturday. This year, because I have a tiny baby who I don't feel super confident about dragging around when I also have a toddler to chase, and no double stroller to stick them both in, we pretty much missed all of the activities. We did leave the baby with grandma and grandpa while we took a half hour to run down to the carnival to grab some strawberries and cream. When we were pulling up to the carnival, Savannah said "Oh wow! It's Disneyland!" (I can't wait to take her to the real Disneyland!) While we were there, we decided to buy some tickets and take her on a few rides. We did the carousel, the little car things, and Bryant even took her down the giant slide. I thought that would really scare her, but as soon as she got off, she asked to do it again. She got her thrill-seeking from her dad. I could barely handle the carousel without getting motion sickness!

(When the guy working the ride when to help her out, she yelled "no stop! I go again!)

Saturday, we decided to go watch the parade.
We left Deagan with my dad and we took Savannah. We found a nice shady spot right downtown and had fun watching the parade. We saw 3 different pirate-themes floats, which means Savannah was in heaven, since she's been obsessed with Peter Pan lately. "Mom wook! It's Cap-pan hoo! Arrrgh matey!" Oh the cuteness of it all, I couldn't handle it!

Bryant ended up having to leave in the middle of it to get to work, so It was just me and Savannah. But after he left, she made a friend with another little girl and they ran around picking weeds and trying to make them stick onto a wall. Then they tried to feed them to an English Mastiff that was taller than them!

(New hair cut and color! Thanks Kenna!)

After the parade, Savannah and I went to Taco Amigo for some strawberry shakes, because Strawberry days is not complete without a trip to Taco Amigo. Also, because ice cream was the only thing I could swallow with my sore throat...

I can't wait until this weekend, we leave for Mt. Shasta and we will be spending the 4th of July there, and blessing Deagan. They may not have a Taco Amigo, but the 4th of July in Mt. Shasta is my favorite!!!

(And here's a photo of Deagan, just because he's adorable.)

Super-mega-awsome weekend!

It's been such a crazy weekend! And I've really been lacking in my blogging. Sorry! I'll try to keep this as short as possible, but I'm warning you, it was a big weekend and LOTS of pictures!

So, like I mentioned a couple of posts ago, it was Strawberry Days here in my little home town. I get so excited every year because this is kind of my kick-off to summer.

So we got an early start to the weekend on Thursday. After Bryant went and took a final at school, we decided to take Ace out for strawberries and cream down at the city carnival.

(I had a ton of these over the weekend. Soooooo good!)

Ace is the KING of puppy-dog eyes. (Well, I know he is a puppy but he still does it so well) You can't help but give in.

Ace did so well at the Carnival that we decided to take him to the park.
He was being really adventurous and checking out the entire park.

That night, I took Ace to obedience school. My parents had signed their dog Sadie up but she had been fixed that morning and couldn't make it to the first class so I asked if I could take Ace. He did really well. At first he was scared and tried to back under the stool I was sitting on, but once he realized how nice the little chocolate lab puppy was next to us, he was happy as a clam. And I was so proud of him because Bryant and I have already taught him to sit and stay so I felt like the proud mama with the kindergartner who could already read.

Friday, we went to the PRCA rodeo! My parents, my sister, my brothers and their friends all came too.

Yeehaw! My little brother Sawyer. Rockin' his pink shirt for the "tough enough to wear pink" night for the Susan G Komen for the cure breast cancer awareness.

My brother Colter (on the Left) and his friend Christian (right) rockin' out the pink too.

My little sister being adorable like always.

Isn't my hubby a hunk?

Wild cow milking.

Saturday we went to the parade! I was in the strawberry days parade all throughout high school, and over the past few years I have been out of town or working so I haven't had a chance to watch the whole thing through for a while. This year, my little brother Sawyer got to be in it with his FFA team.

You can't really see him cause he is on the other side of the street in the back. But see that little crate on the trailer by the front? Those are his chickens! One even layed an egg during the parade hahaha!

After the parade, I still had about an hour before I had to go to work so Bryant and I took my little sister to Parkers to get some yummy burgers for lunch.

(I don't know why his shirt looks like it has yellow stripes on it...)

Sunday was Fathers day and after church we went to my grandpa Bushell's house for dinner with my aunts and uncles and my cousin, his wife and their adorable baby girl. It was so nice out that we all ate outside (my favorite place to eat in the summer!) Afterwards, we went to my grandma and grandpa Peacocks house and got to visit with my cousins there too.

My mom, Bryant and I came up with a good present for my dad. Bryant and I are getting a new computer since this one is about to kick the bucket (this post has taken 2 days to write its getting so bad, plus, the screen is going out and there are lines all throughout it.) And we found a deal that if you buy a mac, you get a free itouch, which works great because I really really really want a mac and I already have an itouch that Bryant gave me for Christmas last year. Originally Bryant was going to get the new Iphone and I was going to take his old one and give my dad my itouch, but with this computer deal, Bryant is going to keep his old iphone, I'm going to get a new, regular phone and I keep my itouch and give my dad the new one.

He's really excited and so am I!

So our weekend was so much fun and exciting that this one seems to be dragging a lot. Bryant is a coach at a basketball camp for the next two weeks so he is gone from 9am to 9pm every day and I'm not scheduled to work until this weekend so I'm feeling really lazy and bored and lonely. So I have decided to head off to the craft store as soon as I finish this to get going on some 4th of July projects.

Sorry this was so long, but you can't say I didn't warn you!

Have a great day everyone!

(P.S. I just remembered that I'll be in Norther California for the 4th of July! Woo! We leave next weekend!)
